Microsoft Outlook (Windows 10/11)

Tutorial on Adding an Email Account to Microsoft Outlook on Windows 10/11 Using Autodiscover to Configure IMAP Servers:

  1. Open Microsoft Outlook.
  2. If you are already signed in, click the File tab and then click Add Account.
  3. If you are not already signed in, click File, Info, and then Add Account.
  4. On the Add Account wizard page, select Email Account and then click Next.
  5. On the Auto Account Setup page, enter your email address and password.
  6. Click Next.

Outlook will attempt to configure your account using Autodiscover. If Autodiscover is successful, Outlook will automatically configure your IMAP, POP3, and SMTP settings.

If Autodiscover fails, you can manually configure your account using the following settings:

  • IMAP server: morwen.planetnoc.net
  • IMAP port: 993
  • IMAP SPA: Off
  • IMAP SSL: On
  • IMAP authentication: Required
  • POP3 server: morwen.planetnoc.net
  • POP3 port: 995
  • POP3 SPA: Off
  • POP3 SSL: On
  • POP3 authentication: Required
  • SMTP server: morwen.planetnoc.net
  • SMTP port: 465
  • SMTP SPA: Off
  • SMTP SSL: On
  • SMTP authentication: Required

To manually configure your account:

  1. On the Auto Account Setup page, click Manual setup or additional server types.
  2. Click IMAP and then click Next.
  3. On the IMAP Account Information page, enter the following information:

    • Your name
    • Your email address
    • The IMAP server name (morwen.planetnoc.net)
    • The IMAP port number (993)
  4. Click Next.
  5. On the IMAP Server Settings page, select the following options:

    • My incoming mail server (IMAP) requires authentication
    • Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to connect to my incoming mail server (IMAP)
  6. Click Next.
  7. On the Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) page, select the following options:

    • My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication
    • Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) to connect to my outgoing mail server (SMTP)
  8. Click Next.
  9. Click Finish to complete the account setup process.

Once your account is configured, you will be able to send and receive emails from Outlook.
