Tutorial on Adding an Email Account to Android Mail Using Autodiscover (or Manual Configuration)

Prerequisites:

  • An Android device with the Android Mail app installed
  • Your email address and password
  • The IMAP and SMTP server settings for your email account

To add an email account to Android Mail using Autodiscover:

  1. Open the Android Mail app.
  2. Tap the Menu button (three dots in the top right corner of the screen).
  3. Tap Settings.
  4. Tap Add account.
  5. Tap Personal (IMAP/POP3).
  6. Enter your email address and password.
  7. Tap Next.
  8. Android Mail will try to automatically configure your email account using Autodiscover. If Autodiscover is successful, you will see a confirmation message. Tap Done to finish adding your account.

If Autodiscover fails:

Tap Manual setup.

Enter the following IMAP server settings:

  • Server: morwen.planetnoc.net
  • Port: 993
  • Security type: SSL
  • Authentication: Required

Enter the following POP3 server settings:

  • Server: morwen.planetnoc.net
  • Port: 995
  • Security type: SSL
  • Authentication: Required

Enter the following SMTP server settings:

  • Server: morwen.planetnoc.net
  • Port: 465
  • Security type: SSL
  • Authentication: Required

Tap Next.

Android Mail will test your email settings. If the settings are correct, you will see a confirmation message. Tap Done to finish adding your account.

Once your email account has been added to Android Mail, you can start sending and receiving emails.
