Evolution Mail (Linux)

Tutorial on Adding an Email Account to Evolution Mail Using Autodiscover

Pre-requisites:

  • Evolution Mail installed on your computer
  • A working internet connection
  • An email account with a provider that supports Autodiscover

Steps:

  1. Open Evolution Mail.
  2. Click on the Add Account button.
  3. In the Set Up Mail Account dialog box, select Other from the Account Type drop-down menu.
  4. Click on the Next button.
  5. In the Identity dialog box, enter your name, email address, and password.
  6. Uncheck the Look up mail server details checkbox.
  7. Click on the Next button.
  8. In the Receiving Email dialog box, select IMAP from the Server Type drop-down menu.
  9. Enter morwen.planetnoc.net in the Server field.
  10. Enter 993 in the Port field.
  11. Select SSL/TLS from the Security drop-down menu.
  12. Check the Authentication required checkbox.
  13. Click on the Next button.
  14. In the Sending Email dialog box, select SMTP from the Server Type drop-down menu.
  15. Enter morwen.planetnoc.net in the Server field.
  16. Enter 465 in the Port field.
  17. Select SSL/TLS from the Security drop-down menu.
  18. Check the Authentication required checkbox.
  19. Click on the Finish button.

If Autodiscover fails, Evolution will use the manual settings that you provided.

Troubleshooting:

If you are having trouble adding your email account to Evolution Mail, try the following:

  • Make sure that you have entered your email address and password correctly.
  • Make sure that your internet connection is working properly.
  • Try restarting Evolution Mail.
  • Try adding your email account manually using the settings that you provided.

If you are still having trouble, contact your email provider for assistance.
